Intro
I will inform you immediately that it is a difficult read. I struggle to motivate myself to write on a daily basis. I have encountered numerous internal obstacles regarding the composition of a book; consequently, I intend to commence blogging. I will be compassionate and forgiving toward myself, as this journey has been difficult. This is an ongoing endeavor; therefore, I will not compose this piece in a single sitting. Upon commencing, I am aware that there is no turning back. Many individuals will anticipate the unveiling of each chapter. I pledge to remain transparent when the writing becomes challenging and to not leave those who are following or reading in the shadows.
About me
**My Story, My Journey & My Healing** Hello, my name is Lisa Funchess. At 47, I embrace a multitude of roles: a daughter, a devoted wife of 13 years, a mother to three wonderful sons, a proud Nana of two precious grandbabies, and a passionate teacher with 3 decades of experience. I would not describe myself as a victim; however, I am learning to appreciate the title of survivor on a daily basis.
Healing from childhood trauma is a formidable journey—one that requires courage and vulnerability. As I peel back the layers and dismantle the walls that have held me captive, I confront the chains of “What Goes on Behind Closed Doors.” This phrase kept me silent throughout my childhood and into adulthood, shrouding me in a prisoner’s mindset that stifled my potential for growth, resilience, and true healing. I have come to realize that my greatest adversary has often been myself, with untold stories lying silent and waiting within me.
